Dollar General: Washcloths for $0.11 each!
Sara found a great deal on washcloths at Dollar General. Right now, you can 50% off online or in store on Home Goods with coupon code HOME50. Or print the coupon off online.
If you’re like me, you don’t have a Dollar General nearby, so the online deal is nice! They have 18 pack of washcloths for $4 (or just $2 after coupon!) Buy $25 worth to get free shipping!
I’m guessing these are pretty thin washcloths, but for this price, you could include 2 in your box. Or, go for the 8 packs for $5.75 (just $2.62 after coupon!). Either way you choose, a washcloth inside a shoe box is definitely better than no washcloth! And, if you’ve never thought of including a washcloth, be sure to read Ted’s story. It will inspire you to put one in every box!
Ebates and Shop at Home both have 2.5% cashback, too! Learn more about those programs here, if you are unfamiliar.

I bought a package of such flimsy washcloths at WalMart for myself three years ago. Most of them are still intact. I use the to remove my make-up even night, so they get washed a lot. A great addition to a box, I say!
Thanks for the tip. I picked up the christmas clearance washclothes at walmart 18 for $2. I was able to get 250, but was needing 600. Now I can get more for the same price. Thanks for this website, its a blessing to me and to many i’m sure!
Saw the advertisement on dollar general for these washclothes this morning, didnt buy them at that time. Went back 2 hours later and they are no longer available online. Guess it wasnt meant to be.
Just ordered enough washcloths to include 2 in each of my boxes! Thank you SO much for the tip. I’ve learned to act on these quickly.
I bought lots of these (the thin ones and I plan to put in 2/box) this week with the 50% off coupon. I also got these items at 50% off=50cents each: 16 sterlite shoeboxes with lids and 3 sewing kits in small plastic boxes (all they had).
16 is the number of boxes I personally budget for and commit to fill. I plan to pack by October 1 this year and then see how many other boxes I can fill and offer those for “adoption” by folks I know who are unable to put together a box themselves.
Very excited to have the plastic boxes as I love the idea you have shared that often these have very long term uses for the recipient.
