A-Day-In-The-Life-OfFor the last 2 years, I have participated in a link up once a year called “A Day in the Life of…”  I was invited to participate once again, so (per instructions) I chronicled a random day in my life by taking snap shots every hour I was awake.  I missed a few of the shots, but did my best.  And, I didn’t “Instagram” them to make them look cooler than they are.  I just took the pictures, people, and uploaded them! All raw, unfiltered, and barely cropped. *gasp* C’est la vie

I know this is not a personal blog, but I feel I can bend the rules once a year because I think this assignment is fun for me.  Feel free to skip the post if you’re not interested.  No hard feelings here  :)

I photographed our day this past Wednesday.  It’s definitely not a typical day for us since I was not working, my husband was out of town, and we were very busy at home preparing to for out of town company and my son’s third birthday (Feb 1st!).  Although, I have to admit, it doesn’t seem like we’re very busy.  A lot of life happens between shots :)

6:30 AM  Wake up call.  No photo of this, but my 2 kiddos and I all slept together since hubby was out of town.  It’s our routine when he’s gone (and no, I did not get a restful nights sleep, but I did get to cuddle with my 2 cuties before they’re too old to think that is not a cool thing to do.)

7:00 AM  Breakfast.  The kids chose apples and peanut butter.  They each ate 2 whole apples.  IMG_1596

8:00 AM  It snowed last night.  The kids got “suited up” to play outside and I captured this shot of our big pine tree covered in snow.  At Christmas, we covered this in lights…it was so pretty.IMG_1595

9:000 AM  Hot cocoa is essential after playing outside in the snow, don’t you know?!IMG_1592

10:00 AM  Post-shower we had an impromptu multi-colored toenail painting party.  Yes, even my son gets in on the action.  And, no, I don’t think this is bad parenting.  IMG_1598

11:00 AM  Lunch.  We always dine early around here.  I got these snack puddings at the store this week (an extremely rare treat…in fact, never bought them before) and the kids are loving them.IMG_1599

Noon  My daughter is off to Kindergarten.  She and my son run down this hill every day to the school.  So far, no serious injuries have been inflicted.2013-01-31_12-24-05_154

1:00 PM  Noah and I are headed home from the grocery store.  He falls asleep in the car; he can’t wait until we get home for naptime.2013-01-29_13-20-13_244

2:00 PM  I’m cleaning while Noah sleeps.  I have a huge mountain of clean laundry calling my name.  I can’t believe I’m posting this picture for all the world to see.IMG_1603

3:00 PM  Noah wakes up just in time for us to get Madeline from school.  No picture here, I was too busy getting a half-awake boy in the car.

4:00 PM  Today is Daisy day.  I lead my daughter’s Girl Scout Daisy troop.  Great bunch of girls; they are too much fun!  I don’t have a picture of this, but I do have a random one of my daughter in her uniform.  Who wants to buy cookies?IMG_20130115_115301

5:00 PM  We’re heading home from Daisies.  I grab dinner at a drive thru since Jason is out of town.  I feel momentary guilt, but I am tired and it is a pretty rare occasion.2013-01-30_15-31-54_46

6:00 PM  When we checked the mail on the way home, we had some new movies waiting on us from Blockbuster.  We’re currently doing a free one month trial.  The kids and I watch the Veggie Tales movie we received:  Lettuce Love One Another.  It’s a good one!  Perfect for V-Day.IMG_1608

7:00 PM:  “Toothy Time”  AKA brushing teeth.  Uh, no picture…but you can imagine it, right?

8:00 PM:  Madeline is asleep already.  Noah is having a night time snack: pears.  We eat a lot of fruit around here.  In fact, went to the store Monday night to get 3 lbs of apples and 2 lbs of pears.  This is the last of it.IMG_1602

9:00 PM  Noah is asleep now, too, and I’m coming downstairs to do some more cleaning.  I spared you the picture here.

10:00 PM  I’m catching up on a TV show on the iPad.  Never get a chance to watch them when the actually come on TV.  Thankful the networks post them online for times like these.  (i.e. hubbies out of town and I’m tired of cleaning already)

11:00 PM  Goodnight.

So, random day.  A pretty boring one at that (sorry!).  But, there you have it.  Until next year……Jessica

Just getting around to seeing this now. I teach high school and don’t find many spare minutes.
So enjoyed seeing your little ones. Hope Noah had a wonderful birthday!
My wonderful son and daughter are 26 and 22 now. I enjoy them now but miss the times when they were small.
